How do “Favorites” differ from “History”?

Favorites are places you saved yourself and named the way you like. History is the points where you turned on spoofing: they get there automatically.
Full answerEither way. Search understands both addresses (“Chekhova 1”) and places (“Pyaterochka”) and ranks results differently: for places, closeness to the current map point matters; for addresses, the precision of the match.
