Spoofing stops in the background, another app shows your real location, the marker is stuck or jumped away, the screen ignores touches — common situations and what to do about each.
Most often a suitable app is simply not installed: the system builds the list and shows only apps that can act as a test location source. Install the app and return to settings.
MIUI and HyperOS (Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO) kill background apps more aggressively than others. Turn on autostart for Mock Location and remove battery restrictions — the app suggests this on first launch.
Android marks every coordinate from a test provider with a “from a mock source” flag. Apps are entitled to check it and refuse to work with such data — Mock Location does not try to bypass this check.
The app detected that satellite data contradicts itself and shows the last confirmed point instead of the suspicious one. This is protection against someone else's fake GPS signal, not an app error.
The app itself detects that the position source has stopped being useful and restores it in two steps. Usually it is enough to wait a few seconds or tap the current location button.
Following turns off as soon as you move the map with your finger — this is deliberate, so the camera does not “take” the map away from you. Tap the current location button, and following turns back on.
Most likely lock mode is on: touches on the map and buttons are deliberately ignored so you do not accidentally move the chosen point. To exit, long-press the screen.
Most often system location is off or the accuracy setting is disabled. Check that location is on and that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning are allowed in its settings.
