Yes. The Mock Location notification has a “Stop” button. The point is kept, and a “Start” button appears in the notification — spoofing continues at the same point without opening the app.
After stopping, the phone returns to real coordinates. If the app window is closed at that moment, the app shuts down by itself and does not linger in memory; “Start” brings spoofing back up.
The notification is shown in the app's language and changes along with it. You can also turn spoofing off on the map — with the power button on the left; other ways are covered in the question how to turn mock location off.
