Which Android version do I need?

Android 8.0 (Oreo) or newer is the minimum supported version. The app targets current Android and is tested on recent versions, including Android 16.

Android 8.0 or newer. The lower limit is not arbitrary: starting with this version Android lets a background service run permanently as long as it shows a notification — this is exactly what keeps the mock location on while the phone is in your pocket.

On older versions the service would have to be kept alive in other, less reliable ways, and spoofing would drop unpredictably. We will not promise it works where we cannot make it work.

There is no upper limit: the app is tested on current versions, including Android 16. The only thing in recent versions that affects spoofing is stricter handling of background work and permissions — hence the request for the notification permission, without which the system will not allow the background service to exist.

A note on the location permission: since Android 10 the system distinguishes access “while using the app” and “all the time”. The first is enough for spoofing itself, but restoring it automatically after a reboot needs “Allow all the time” — otherwise the system will not let the app use location until you open it manually.

The manufacturer's skin (MIUI, HyperOS, One UI, EMUI) does not affect compatibility — only where to look for the right settings and how aggressively the system closes background processes. Paths for specific skins are covered in the guides for Xiaomi, Samsung and Huawei.

You can check your version in Settings → “About phone” → “Android version”.
