How to move Mock Location favorite places to a new phone

Saved places are the main thing you would hate to lose when changing phones. In Mock Location they are tied to your account, not to the device, so moving comes down to signing in to the same account. Below is the main path and two fallbacks: a cloud backup and a file.

  1. Make sure your places are in the account

On the old phone, sign in (the account button at the bottom left of the map) and wait for sync. It is easy to check: open your account on the website — your places should be in the “Favorites” section. If the old phone is already gone but you were signed in, the places are stored on the server anyway.

  2. Install the app on the new phone

Download the APK from the website or install the app from RuStore — data moves through the account, so any build will do. Then set up spoofing as the first time: developer mode and selecting the mock location app.

  3. Sign in to the same account

Account button → “Sign in” with the same email and password. If the local data and the account data differ, the app asks which way to sync.

  4. Choose “From cloud to phone”

On a new phone the list is usually empty, so you need to take the data from the server. The “From phone to cloud” option would do the opposite — send an empty or someone else's list to the account. Before replacing anything the app still saves a “Before sync” backup, so a mistake can be fixed.

  5. Check the device limit

If signing in fails with a message about the device limit, revoke the old phone in your account → “Devices” → “Revoke”. The slot frees up immediately. An old phone that you are selling or giving away is best revoked in any case.

Fallback: a cloud backup

If you were signed in, the app also uploaded backups to the cloud. On the new phone, after signing in, open Settings → “Backups”: backups from the old phone are marked with the “Only in the cloud” icon. Tap the one you need and confirm the restore — this way you can also bring back the state on a specific date, not just the latest one. Details are in the guide on backups.

Without an account: moving with a file

Without signing in, places are stored only on the phone. In that case, on the old phone open Settings → “Backups”, tap “Download to file” on a recent backup and move the file to the new phone in any way you like. There, tap “From file”, choose the file and restore the backup that appears. Keep in mind that without an account the free plan limits apply: favorites are not available, and in history only the latest entries are available.

What moves and what does not

Favorites (with names, icons and groups), history and Premium move — the subscription is tied to the account, not to the phone. The phone's own settings do not move: the selected mock location app, permissions, autostart and battery restrictions — you need to turn them on again on the new device. Appearance and language are also chosen on each phone separately.

If the places did not appear

Check that you signed in to the same account and confirmed your email: without confirmation sync does not turn on. Make sure there is internet. If the places are visible on the website but not on the phone, sign out and sign in again, choosing “From cloud to phone”. If nothing helps, write to support and include your account email.
