Which travel modes are there, and how fast does the point move?
On foot, bicycle, e-bike, scooter, motorcycle, car and public transport, plus “Hybrid”. The speed is set with a slider up to 200 km/h and is remembered for each mode separately.
By default the speed is close to real life: 5 km/h on foot, 15 km/h by bicycle, 22 km/h by e-bike, 40 km/h by scooter, 50 km/h by car, 60 km/h by motorcycle and 25 km/h for transit. For “Transit” the slider sets the speed of the bus or tram itself, and the walking parts to the stops go at walking pace.
The mode decides not only the speed but also the roads: a pedestrian walks along sidewalks and crossings, a bicycle uses the cycling network, and a car, motorcycle and scooter use the roadway. And the “physics”: how quickly the point speeds up, how it brakes and how much it slows down on turns. That is why a pedestrian set to 200 km/h still speeds up slowly — it is a property of the mode, not a bug.
