Favorites in Mock Location: groups, sorting and your own order

Once you have more than a dozen favorite places, scrolling to find the right one gets inconvenient. In Mock Location the list can be sorted, arranged manually and organized into groups — “Work”, “Tests”, “Cottage”. All of this is done right in the list, without separate screens, and syncs with your account. Step by step below.

  1. Add a place to favorites

Open the list of places (the search field on the map) and the “All” tab — that is the history of points where you turned on spoofing. Tap the heart in the row of the place you want, and it appears in the “Favorites” tab. You can also switch between tabs with a swipe.

  2. Choose a sorting

The sort button is on the right above the list. Options: “Newest first”, “Oldest first”, “Name, A–Z” and “Name, Z–A”, “Nearest to me” and — only in Favorites — “Manual”. The order is chosen separately for Favorites and History and is remembered.

  3. Arrange places manually

Press a place, hold your finger and drag the row up or down; near the edge of the screen the list scrolls by itself. After the first drag the sorting becomes “Manual” by itself, and the previous order on screen becomes the starting one. If you lift your finger without moving the row, renaming the place opens.

  4. Create a group

Under the tabs, tap “Group”, enter a name and confirm. Group chips line up in a row and wrap to the next line if they do not fit.

  5. Move a place to a group

Long-press a place and drag it onto a group chip. A place can be in only one group; moving it to another group simply moves it over.

  6. Use a group as a filter

Tapping a chip shows only that group's places; tapping it again removes the filter. To take a place out of a group, open the group and tap “×” in the place's row: it stays in Favorites.

  7. Rename, delete or reorder a group

Long-pressing a chip opens a menu with “Rename” and “Delete group”. If you move your finger while holding the chip, the group is reordered among the others. Deleting a group does not delete its places — they stay in Favorites without a group.

How “Nearest to me” and sorting by name work

“Nearest to me” measures the distance from your real location, not from the spoofed point. Until your real location is determined, the list is shown as “Newest first”.

When sorting by name, the app compares numbers by value, as a person would: “Home 2” comes before “Home 10”, not after “Home 1”.

What is available without Premium

Favorites, and with them groups and manual order, are Premium features. On the free plan the sort and “Group” buttons are marked with a lock: tapping them explains that this is a Premium feature and offers to get a subscription. History on the free plan always goes from newest to oldest.

Your chosen sorting and groups are not erased when Premium ends — they come back with the subscription.

Limits

You can have up to 50 groups, a group name can be up to 40 characters, and names cannot repeat. While a group is selected, there is no “Clear” button: otherwise it would erase all of Favorites, not just the group's places. Favorites can hold no more than 1,000 places.

Sync and the website

Groups, their order and the manual order of places are stored in your account and are the same on all your phones. In your account on the website favorites are shown as one list: there you can find, rename, change the icon of or delete places, while groups and order are set up in the app.

When you sign out, groups are removed from the phone so they do not end up in someone else's account; they remain on the server and come back after you sign in.
