The website version checks for updates on launch and shows an “Update available” banner with a button to download and install. The RuStore version updates through the store.
The banner shows the new version number and, if available, what is new in it. The app checks the checksum of the downloaded file itself and will not install a file that does not match. The update installs over the current version, and your data is kept.
The RuStore build has no self-update code at all — this is the store's requirement, not a disabled feature. There updates arrive the usual store way.
